Job Overview The Quality Manager manages work plans and programs, ensuring that the production process culminates with products and/or services that will be within predetermined standards. This includes the responsibility for analyzing the process and the statistical information resulting from the quality inspection or audit to identify areas of opportunity and develop better quality processes. This role will also be responsible to maintain the ISO Business Management System with the support of the Director, Global Quality.

Key Responsibilities Business System Management:

  • Plan, organize, develop, monitor and control quality systems activities.
  • Verify the application of the quality policy and procedures in the different areas of the company.
  • Train the different members of the company in the application of management and quality systems.
  • Plan, organize, develop and control quality inspection procedures.
  • Plan, organize, develop and coordinate internal audits to ensure proper control over its execution and follow up (observations, NCs and OFIs).
  • Address findings (observations, NCs and OFIs) of external quality audits.
  • Follow up on corrections effectiveness, corrective actions or opportunities for improvement in each process.
  • Prepare technical analyzes of the product for analysis and problem solving.
  • Carry out supplier audits as required and in concert with Supplier Quality and other audits on third parties.
  • Develop and monitor the quality department's improvement and inspection plans.
  • Apply quality control tools and instruments to achieve planned results.
  • Analyze information from KPI’s to identify and define new or modified strategies to achieve planned objectives.
  • Prepare bi-annual Business Management Review Data Summaries, minutes and schedule the Management Review.
  • Maintain the required management system documentation and issue necessary as required by corrective/preventive actions or new standards.
  • Ensure the business management system documentation is kept up to date in accordance with processes as required.
  • Analyze and follow up on quality surveys received from customers (either visits, or aftermarket), to identify opportunities for improvement.

Training

  • Approve the contents of the technical training affecting quality over the product and certifications.
  • Develop and communicate quality alerts as containment actions.
  • Training for internal auditors of quality systems.
  • Training for members of the areas and organization in the development of corrective actions.
  • Assess employees training abilities and recommend and schedule as necessary

Interaction With Customer And Suppliers

  • Interact with Sales and customers for quality-related requests and audits.
  • Interact with suppliers for quality-related requests and conduct Supplier Audits as required.
  • Manages and monitors corrective actions regarding the quality of non-conforming materials.
  • Address applicable FPRs.
  • Ensures maintaining up to date required quality portals (NMRs, FPRs, ODCs)
  • Evaluate and issue CCRs and monitor the issuance of certificates of conformity for customers respectively.
  • Monitors external customer portals to provide required information (PPAP, Deviations as applicable)

Calibration of Monitoring and Measuring Resources

  • Plan, organize, develop, monitor and control the calibration system on the equipment in charge, to comply with established standards.
  • Ensures the use of external calibration with proper certification, if required,

Projects

  • Coordinate the implementation of new products from a quality perspective, working together with other areas and developing the new processes and procedures required.
  • Gets involved in organizational growth projects.
  • Gets involved in continuous improvement projects.
  • Participate in Global Standardization project as initiated by the Director, Global Quality.

Qualifications And Requirements A college diploma or bachelor's degree in quality management or equivalent.

6-9 years of experience in a Quality role

Experience in a manufacturing environment

Required Designations/Certifications/Licenses

  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Certification
  • Knowledge related to the electrical industry.
  • Methodology for analysis and problem resolution.
  • Techniques to involve and commit staff and achieve quality objectives.
  • Continuous improvement programs

Preferred Designations/Certifications/Licenses

  • UL\CSA File Knowledge (Desirable)
  • ISO 27001 Lead\Auditor Certification
  • ISO 14001 Lead\Auditor Certification
  • ISO 45001 Lead\Auditor Certification
  • ASQ – Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
  • ASQ – Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • ASQ – Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence Certification (CMQ/OE)

Specialized Knowledge

  • Knowledge with the calibration of Monitoring and Measuring Resources
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Microsoft Dynamics D365 experience
  • Familiarity with design and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with ISO 9001/27001/14001 Management Systems
  • Experience with registrars and regulatory (UL, CSA, ABS) agencies
  • Experience with D365
  • Knowledge of APQP and automotive quality systems

Additional Skills Must have good communication skills and can effectively work closely with HPS staff, departments, suppliers, customers, registrars and regulatory agencies.Analytical strength and skills to determine outcomes based on the data.
