We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Boom Truck Driver to support our heavy equipment transportation and field service operations. The successful candidate must possess a valid AZ Driver's Licence, an 8 Tonne Boom Truck Operator Certification (8 Tonne Ticket), and experience operating manual transmission vehicles and towing trailers. This role is responsible for transporting heavy equipment components, counterweights, attachments, jobsite equipment, and materials. The successful candidate will assist mechanics and technicians with the disassembly and assembly of large equipment requiring transport or major repairs, including lifting and moving heavy components using the boom truck crane.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate boom trucks, manual transmission commercial vehicles, and trailers. Transport heavy equipment, crane and excavator components, attachments, tools, and materials between jobsites, customer locations, and company facilities. Perform daily vehicle inspections and ensure all loads are properly secured and transported in compliance with regulations. Assist mechanics and technicians with the teardown, assembly, repair, and maintenance of cranes, excavators, and other heavy equipment. Operate the boom truck crane to lift, position, and support heavy equipment components during repairs and transport preparation. Support field service calls and emergency equipment breakdowns when required. Maintain a clean, organized truck, trailer, yard, and work area while assisting with general yard and fleet operations.
Qualifications
Valid AZ Driver's Licence with a clean driving record. Experience operating boom trucks, trailers, and manual transmission commercial vehicles. Ability to safely handle and transport heavy equipment and oversized loads. Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship. Mechanical aptitude or experience working with heavy equipment is considered an asset. Ability to perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced environment. Bonus Qualifications
- Experience handling and transporting crane counterweights, excavator counterweights, boom sections, and heavy equipment attachments.
- Rigging and signaling experience.
- Experience in construction, crane rental, heavy equipment rental, or equipment service operations.
- Experience supporting mechanics with major repairs and equipment rebuilds.
Working Conditions
Typical hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, additional hours including occasional weekends when required ;
