About the role

Reporting to and working closely with the Director, Technical Programs, the Program Manager manages the activities of one or more TAC councils by supporting volunteer council and committee executives and members, facilitating the development and delivery of work programs, and advancing strategic priorities. The Program Manager also manages pooled-fund projects that foster knowledge sharing and the development of national technical guidance.

The position’s main responsibilities are: Council Support Support councils and committees managing work plans, preparing meeting materials, tracking progress, and reporting activities to the Board of Directors Maintain collaborative online workspaces, and attend virtual and in-person meetings Moderate webinars provided by TAC’s Learning Program Collaborate with other TAC staff, volunteers, member organizations, and external stakeholders to advance technical projects and shared interests

Technical Project Support Provide end-to-end support for technical projects by coordinating steering committee activities, managing consultant selection and performance, and overseeing deliverables and approvals Serve as the central point of communication between steering committees and consultants Prepare, monitor and maintain project budgets and contracts, and review regular financial reports and consultant invoices Prepare, post and manage meeting agendas, minutes and other documents and materials, and maintain collaborative online workspaces Liaise with other internal teams to communicate project updates, issue notices, and ensure accurate website content Review deliverables for technical and editorial accuracy Facilitate the approval of deliverables

You will bring: An undergraduate degree in civil engineering, transportation planning, or a related discipline and at least five years of relevant technical work experience Fluency in English and proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work under pressure, and meet deadlines Experience developing and delivering high-quality products that are consistent, technically accurate, and strategically relevant Ability to analyze and summarize trends in the transportation sector relevant to TAC and its members Responsiveness, tact, courtesy and collaboration with external members and clients, and internal colleagues Ability to take responsibility and ownership of tasks, while integrating and working as part of a team Also considered assets are: A related post-graduate degree or certificate Professional accreditation in a relevant field (e.g. Professional Engineer, Project Management Professional) Bilingualism in English and French Experience with live event delivery or management using virtual meeting platforms

Compensation and other details: This is a full-time salaried position with a salary of $75,000 to $85,000 per year, plus a comprehensive benefits package, generous paid annual leave, a pension contribution matching program, health group benefits, and professional development opportunities. This salary and benefits are offered in exchange for an eight-hour workday (e.g. 8:30 to 4:30 or similar), Monday to Friday, in a pleasant office environment in Ottawa, Ontario (The ability to work from home up to two days per week may be arranged). Travel and weekend work are required once or twice per year.
