Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical (Med-Surg)
Location: Across British Columbia (Various Hospital Sites) Position Summary We are seeking experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide high-quality care within Medical Surgical (Med-Surg) units across multiple locations in British Columbia. The successful candidates will support patients with acute medical conditions, post-operative recovery needs, and complex health presentations while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care.
Contract Details
Contract Length: 4–13 Weeks or Longer (Based on Facility Needs) Extension Opportunity: Potential for extension Hours: Full-Time, 80 Hours Bi-Weekly Pay Rate: CAD $49–$60/hour
Travel & Benefits
Travel and accommodation covered Travel time compensation Overtime (OT) at 1.5x regular rate Double-Time (DT) at 2x regular rate Statutory holiday pay as applicable
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical and surgical patients within RN scope of practice. Conduct patient assessments, monitor conditions, and respond to changes appropriately. Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments while ensuring patient safety and accuracy. Support post-operative recovery, wound care, mobility, and ongoing clinical monitoring. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to implement and update care plans. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions. Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and uphold infection control standards.
Qualifications
✔ Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent recognized RN qualification ✔ Current practicing registration with BCCNM in good standing ✔ Current BLS Certification ✔ Recent Medical Surgical or Acute Care hospital experience preferred ✔ Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, documentation, and communication skills ✔ Ability to work effectively in fast-paced hospital environments
