We are currently recruiting for a Site Supervisor (Mid-Rise Multi-Family Construction)!

This is a full-time position.

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Construction Manager Multi-Family, the Site Supervisor will have the opportunity to oversee site operations of all phases on residential mid-rise (typically 4–12 storey) multi-family buildings, including concrete podium and wood-frame superstructures, including employees, subcontractors, materials, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding with quality, on schedule, and within budget. This role will lead projects from excavation to occupancy and will have the opportunity to lead a similar project once the initial building is completed.

Job Duties

  • Oversee total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule
  • Lead subcontractors and trades in daily work, ensuring compliance with the project schedule
  • Manage site start-up, organize and coordinate subcontractors including adherence to sub-contract terms and conditions
  • Ensure all required permits are obtained
  • Ensure that safe work practices and procedures are being followed onsite at all times
  • Prepare, review, and direct action on all RFIs
  • Ensure accurate and timely project close date; adjust working schedules to ensure deadlines are met
  • Work closely with the project manager regularly/monthly to review project budgets, actuals, and forecasted costs to complete the work
  • Working with the construction management team to resolve any construction issues that may arise
  • Ensure proper materials and quantities of materials are on site before daily work commences
  • Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and report on the progression of the building
  • Supervise all workers onsite; provide feedback to workers, enforce company policy, and administer disciplinary measures as required
  • Identify and resolve conflicts within project teams and associated work; create contingency plans to mitigate risk
  • Develop, monitor, and oversee quality control measures on worksites
  • Ensure building inspections are completed periodically throughout the construction phases to ensure buildings meet the specifications of clients
  • Coordinate mid‑rise structural elements including concrete podiums, elevator shafts, stair cores, and fire‑rated assemblies
  • Oversee installation and sequencing of multi‑storey building envelope systems (windows, membranes, insulation, cladding, balconies)
  • Coordinate MEP systems including vertical risers, mechanical rooms, distribution systems, sprinklers, standpipes, and fire alarm installations
  • Plan and supervise high‑risk activities (crane lifts, concrete pours, shoring, hoarding, winter heat)
  • Maintain detailed daily digital site logs (manpower, equipment, site conditions, inspections, deficiencies)
  • Ensure proactive coordination between floors and trades to avoid stacking conflicts; maintain look‑ahead schedules and monitor critical path
  • Support commissioning of building systems (HVAC, electrical, life‑safety, elevators) and coordinate city/fire inspections and occupancy permits

Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of trade experience or relevant post-secondary education
  • Minimum 5 years relevant project site leadership experience (on site experience mandatory). This can be concurrent with 5 years of experience noted above.
  • Experience as a Site Superintendent or Site Supervisor on mid-rise (4–12 storey) multi-family projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and Build-Pro Software is an asset
  • Ability and proven experience taking mid-rise or multi-storey projects from start to finish
  • Effectiveness in the areas of construction safety and productivity
  • Strong communication, integration, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Dedication to health and safety in the workplace
  • Superior leadership qualities with a demonstrated track record of dealing successfully with internal and external customers
  • Results-oriented with the ability to interpret and effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and timelines
  • Demonstrates and implements conflict resolution
  • Up-to-date safety training relevant to the requirements of the Project
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license is mandatory
  • Standard First Aid and CPR-C

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors year‑round in varying weather conditions
  • Comfortable climbing ladders, stairs, and working at heights
  • Ability to walk active construction sites for extended periods
  • Willingness to support after‑hours work during critical operations (e.g., crane lifts, major pours)
