Director of People and Culture Navera Community Connections

At Navera Community Connections, we believe strong communities start with people who feel seen, supported, and connected. Every day, our team works alongside individuals and families, helping them navigate challenges and create possibilities through early learning, counselling, and community programs.

We're looking for a Director of People and Culture to lead all aspects of HR for our organization of approximately 70 employees. Reporting to the CEO and serving on the Leadership Team, you'll shape our people strategy while providing practical, day-to-day HR leadership. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

What You'll Do

Lead Navera's People and Culture strategy in alignment with our mission, values, and strategic plan.

Advise the CEO and Leadership Team on workforce planning, organizational development, employee relations, and HR best practices.

Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning, and succession planning.

Coach leaders through employee relations, performance issues, workplace investigations, accommodations, and conflict resolution.

Champion an inclusive, respectful, and psychologically safe workplace culture.

Administer employee benefits and support compensation planning alongside the Director of Finance.

Maintain payroll knowledge and provide backup support when needed.

Lead occupational health and safety initiatives and ensure compliance with employment legislation and HR policies.

Build practical HR systems and processes that support a growing organization.

What You Bring You are an experienced HR professional who enjoys working independently, building strong relationships, and finding practical solutions.

Qualifications

Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum five years of progressive HR experience.

Strong knowledge of Saskatchewan employment legislation.

Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.

Assets

CPHR designation.

Experience in the non-profit or social services sector.

Experience as the sole HR practitioner or in a small HR team.

A satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search is required.
