About the role
Senior Geologist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing geological exploration activities that support the advancement of mineral projects. The role involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting geological data while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to guide exploration programs.
Key Responsibilities Participate in the planning and execution of exploration programs. Coordinate and oversee field activities, including mapping, sampling, trenching, and drilling operations. Prepare drill plans, geological cross-sections, and longitudinal sections. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements. Supervise and mentor geological staff and contractors. Manage core logging procedures and sample quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC). Maintain accurate and up-to-date geological databases. Compile and validate historical and current exploration data. Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical information. Prepare clear and professional reports documenting results, progress, and interpretations. Collaborate closely with technical personnel, consultants, drilling contractors, and service providers. Participate in technical meetings, presentations, and project planning discussions. Perform other duties as required to support exploration activities.
Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related discipline. Professional registration or eligibility for registration with a recognized geological association. Approximately 10–15 years of relevant exploration experience. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Self-motivated, resourceful, and detail-oriented. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in geological software packages such as Leapfrog, ioGAS, Imago, Geotic, and QGIS. Advanced English proficiency is considered an asset. French Speaking is a must Valid driver’s license.
