Keolis is seeking a dedicated Dispatcher to join our team in St. Albert, Alberta. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in coordinating operators and vehicles, ensuring reliable service, and acting as a vital communication link for our team and clients. Knowledge and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a dispatch or control center role (preferred)
  • Administrative or scheduling experience in a transit operations environment (asset)
  • Experience with electronic dispatch, GPS, WebRisk, Halo, DATS/COPS, and related operations software (asset)
  • Ability to serve as backup for Admin staff as needed
  • Knowledge of local transit operations considered an asset

Skills:

  • Ability to remain composed and professional in high-pressure situations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; strong attention to detail

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities

  • Diplomacy and tact with both customers and employees

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Teams, and email systems

  • Effective problem-solver; agile in handling changing operational needs

Key Accountabilities:

Dispatch Operations & Coordination

  • Listen and respond to dispatch requests from operators in real time

  • Respond to sick book-offs and fill vacant shifts as per Bookout procedures

  • Create, assign, and update daily and weekly schedules for operators and vehicles

  • Assign/reassign buses, running boards, and transfers

  • Support On Demand, HandyBus, and fixed-route operations; coordinate with drivers to fuel crew vehicles and log extra time

  • Monitor the GPS/Transit Master system; proactively address delays and implement alternate plans as needed

  • Oversee AM and PM shift flows: preparing tablets, managing lane access, shop logistics, supporting vehicle/garage entry & exit

  • Communicate shift details using WebRisk, Halo, DATS/COPS, and VOC, updating stakeholders as required

  • Handle driver no-shows, bus changeouts, and operational disruptions:

  • Contact operators; arrange shift coverage; log and escalate events

  • Log changeouts and incidents accurately in all required systems and notify On-Call Supervisors

  • Support safety: respond to incidents/emergencies, complete required workplace injury procedures, and ensure policy compliance

Minimum: $55,000 per year + more depending on level of experience.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday - hours will vary depending on business needs.
