Job Summary The QA Analyst ensures SBWeb and related SmartBorder systems are tested thoroughly before deployment. The role validates new features, regression tests existing functionality, and works with developers and BAs to keep quality high in a fast-moving Customs Brokerage environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and execute test cases for SBWeb modules.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and data-driven testing for customs workflows.
- Validate JIRA stories for completeness, acceptance criteria, and expected regulatory behavior.
- Log defects with clear, reproducible steps and proper impact assessment on brokerage workflows.
- Collaborate directly with developers and BAs to verify fixes and retest efficiently.
- Participate in sprint ceremonies and provide realistic testing estimates.
- Support deployment cycles by validating release candidates and performing smoke tests.
- Provide feedback on gaps in test coverage for customs brokerage workflows.
- Support documentation improvements for testing processes and regulatory cases.
- Test new SBWeb features and validate correct brokerage behavior.
- Verify customs data flows, validations, and rules.
- Maintain test results.
- Identify regulatory edge cases.
- Support Production Verification during deployments.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of software QA fundamentals.
- Deep knowledge of Customs Brokerage (ACE, ACI, PARS, PAPS, In-Bond, Entry workflows).
- Ability to validate complex business rules for customs entries, shipments, trips, manifests, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with JIRA.
- Ability to read and validate JSON, XML, and basic SQL (asset).
- Strong communication skills.
Work Experience – Minimum Required 2 years of related experience
EDUCATION Preferred: Associates Degree or post-secondary education
Certifications Description
- College diploma or degree in IT, computer science, logistics, or equivalent experience.
- ISTQB Foundation
- CCS/CTBS or equivalent brokerage certification
