Objective

The Territory Sales Consultant (TSC) spends up to 80% of their time in the field in their region to find new customers and build relationships in the account portfolio, securing ongoing orders for all lines of our business. Their activities are attached to a branch of Stephenson’s. The TSC will be responsible for hunting new customers within Stephenson’s target segments and building long-term customer relationships . Working closely with our specialty divisions and branch teams, the TSC’s role is to promote company programs and initiatives and to bring differentiated value to new and existing customers.

Responsibilities

  1. Creates and executes a prospecting plan to secure new local customers within the assigned market area to strengthen the local client portfolio. The prospecting plan should be built in collaboration with the sales manager.

  2. Promotes Stephenson’s Rental Services products and services to customers, providing applications and promotional materials.

  3. Develops daily and weekly sales call plans for prospecting new accounts and connections with existing accounts.

  4. Completes and maintains call reports and sales plans accurately and in a timely manner.

  5. Provides the Branch Manager with regular updates on accounts for forecasting and collaboration, and attends all sales meetings and events.

  6. Maintains sales funnels and communicates site information with sales and operations teams.

  7. Prepares and delivers annual customer pricing agreements, and provides sales information for the annual budget process.

  8. Identifies customer trends and makes recommendations on new products, programs, and services.

  9. Ensures strong relationships and connections with internal partners (other TSCs, Branch Managers, and Store Teams) to review weekly sales activity, wins & challenges, and opportunities to increase market share.

  10. When required, loads up the G-class required truck and delivers items to customer sites.

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales and/or Customer Service, with a preference for a background in Rental Equipment or Construction.
  • Valid G-Class Driver’s License with clean abstract (valid within last 90 days).
  • Experience successfully establishing new and/or building existing customer relationships.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills, able to effectively deal with internal staff and clients.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining tight deadlines under multiple projects.
  • Strong presentation skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, strong project management skills, attention to detail and excellent analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Strong MS Office skills.
  • Acute business acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Knowledge of the regional construction market is a strong asset.
