Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Truck & Trailer Mechanic in Edmonton, Alberta to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered trucks and trailers. The successful candidate will ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and compliant with Alberta Transportation and CVIP standards, while minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air systems on heavy-duty trucks and trailers
Perform preventive maintenance services in accordance with manufacturer and fleet schedules
Repair brakes, steering, and suspension
Service trailer components including axles, air brake systems, lighting, doors, landing gear, and frames
Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot faults
Complete repair orders, inspection reports, and maintenance records accurately
Maintain a clean and safe work environment following OH&S standards
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of experience repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers
Valid Alberta driver’s license; Class 1 or 3 an asset
CVIP certification or ability to obtain
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in shop and outdoor environments
Skills & Competencies Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Attention to safety, detail, and quality workmanship
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication and time-management skills
Willingness to work overtime and shifts as required
Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shop for extended periods.
Ability to lift or move parts and materials up to 50 lbs.
