Description

The School of Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA), Division of Music, invites applications for Sessional Instructors to teach the following courses in the Fall 2025.

Lectures for the Fall 2025 term run from September 2 to December 5, 2025. Please see the academic schedule for additional important dates and deadlines.

Note: The following course offerings are tentative, pending funding and sufficient enrolments

Current Offering for Fall 2025

MUPF 229A/329A: World Music Ensemble

Fall 2025, Mondays 18:00-20:50

Course Description: Performing experience in the World Music Ensemble.

Note: this hire is for 0.17 HCE to team teach with the Ensemble Director

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Master¿s degree (or equivalent) or currently studying in a PhD program in ethnomusicologySignificant (i.e., national/international) performing experience in santour
  • Significant experience in intercultural musical collaboration
  • Significant teaching experience in Persian traditional music
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver curriculum to students from a wide variety of backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability to make connections between the University and the diverse local musical community of Calgary
  • Strong organizational and professional skills
  • Leadership experience in single-instructor, fusion-creation format world music ensembles
