JOB TITLE:

Prospect Research and Data Specialist - Job Reference #202508-05C

DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Manager, Research and Prospect Development and the Executive Director, Foundation, Alumni and Development, the Prospect Research and Data Specialist is required to:

  • Perform and implement data strategies related to the following: prospect management, data integrity, annual fund, stewardship, pipeline development, and legacy giving.

  • Be accountable for database procedures and related business decisions, ensuring the integrity of the database and adherence to privacy legislation.

  • Ensure the continual development of the donor pipeline through the identification of prospects through the moves management process.

  • Prospect research for major gift prospects and donors (individuals, corporate sector, and private foundations).

  • Monitor news alerts for information about prospects and communicate relevant information to appropriate staff.

    • Oversee the implementation of general stewardship plans as driven by the Raiser’s Edge database and ensure that stewardship plans are in place (in the database with date reminders) for major donors (in partnership with prospect managers).
  • Oversee/manage student workers; primary responsibilities of student workers will include database support and prospect research utilizing the standardized template.

  • Other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (unless identified as preferred):

  • College diploma or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience

  • Thorough knowledge of database systems, CRA guidelines re: donations and gift receipting

  • A general understanding of book-keeping/journal entries

  • Donor research experience including prospect research software, online databases, and internet search techniques

  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite

  • Knowledge of privacy regulations and fundraising standards.

TYPE OF JOB:

12 month Full Time Contract (35 hours per week)

EFFECTIVE DATE:

As soon as possible.

SALARY RANGE:

SSG 12 - $65,331 - $79,598 per annum, dependent on experience
