Humanoid Robot Deployment Specialist (For Engineered Arts, via AppDirect RaaS) New
About the role
Location: Montreal
Employment Type: FTE
About Our Hiring Partner: Engineered Arts
Our robots are known worldwide and are regularly featured in the media, both traditional and social. They have been entertaining and educating in Universities and Science Centers for more than two decades. Now we are at the forefront of the AI boom and our technology is primed to add value to new verticals with the automation of interaction through embodied AI. These emerging applications include reception duties and office automation aids, hospitality concierge and check-in assistants, information points and product information kiosks amongst many other exciting use cases.
About the Role
We're expanding into Canada to establish a base for deploying and testing our humanoid robots in new use cases. You'll become a subject expert on our robots - understanding them inside and out, diagnosing issues in the field, interfacing with customers trialing the tech, and feeding insights back to product teams. You'll also manage our in-house Canadian fleet, maintaining and upgrading robots for demos and deployments. As one of our first Canadian hires, you'll be self-motivated and self-driven, with strong support from UK and US teams, acting as the on-the-ground point person for whatever the business or customers need.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales support: Provide technical sales expertise to North American teams, act as the Canada sales point of contact, and deliver live demos (in-person at our offices, on-site with desktop robots, or remotely via video call).
- Customer liaison: Be the primary contact for Canadian customers trialing new robot features, collect feedback, and relay insights to Product Development teams.
- Customer support: Manage the digital helpdesk as first point of contact, own support tickets from diagnosis to resolution, connect remotely to troubleshoot issues, coordinate spare parts shipments with production, and travel on-site for complex fixes.
- Installation, rental, and event support: Coordinate venue requirements with customers, perform pre-shipment checks, travel for setup and installation, train customer stakeholders on safe usage and maintenance, stay on-site during rentals to ensure optimal performance, and represent EA at trade shows (booth setup, visitor engagement, exhibit management).
- EA robot fleet management: Own and maintain the Canadian robot fleet, ensuring they're always demo-ready for developers, customer visits, or last-minute event deployments.
What You Bring
- Customer-facing experience with strong organizational and project management skills
- Electronics fundamentals: ability to diagnose issues using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and debug complex electromechanical systems
- Full driving license and ability to travel globally without visa restrictions (especially Canada, USA, Asia)
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Experience supporting complex mechanical devices or machine tools
- Computer networking knowledge and troubleshooting
- Team or office management experience
