Position Overview

Chens Enterprises Corporation is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Inside Sales Representative to manage and grow a portfolio of business-to-business customer accounts. The successful candidate will build strong customer relationships, identify sales opportunities, promote products and sales programs, process orders accurately, and provide responsive service throughout the customer order cycle. This position is suited to a proactive sales professional who is comfortable communicating by telephone and email, managing multiple customer accounts, and collaborating with internal departments in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccount Management and Sales Growth

Manage an assigned portfolio of existing and prospective customer accounts. Build long-term customer relationships and act as a primary contact for day-to-day sales requirements. Identify opportunities to increase order frequency, expand product listings, and grow sales within existing accounts. Conduct outbound sales calls and follow up consistently with customers and prospects. Generate, qualify, and convert new business leads into active customer accounts. Reactivate inactive accounts and develop customers with growth potential. Support monthly and quarterly sales targets through effective account management and sales execution.

Customer Service and Sales Support

Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries by telephone and email. Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate products, quantities, promotions, and ordering solutions. Prepare quotations, pricing information, product details, and other sales documentation. Follow up on quotations, product inquiries, new listings, backorders, and outstanding customer requests. Resolve customer concerns by coordinating with the appropriate internal departments. Maintain a high standard of customer satisfaction and service accuracy.

Order Processing and Coordination

Enter and process customer orders accurately and within required timelines. Review product availability, pricing, quantities, delivery requirements, and customer-specific instructions. Coordinate with the order desk, purchasing, warehouse, logistics, customer service, and accounting teams to support successful order fulfillment. Monitor order status and communicate proactively regarding substitutions, shortages, delays, or delivery changes. Assist with resolving order discrepancies, delivery issues, pricing concerns, returns, and credit-related inquiries. Maintain accurate customer, order, and sales activity records in the company’s ERP or CRM systems.

Product and Promotional Support

Develop a strong understanding of the company’s food, beverage, household, and private-label product portfolio. Recommend products based on customer type, market demand, purchasing history, and sales opportunities. Communicate new product launches, promotional programs, seasonal opportunities, and pricing updates. Support promotional initiatives across mainstream, multicultural, independent, and e-commerce sales channels. Gather customer and market feedback and communicate relevant information to sales management.

Qualifications

Previous experience in inside sales, account management, customer service, business development, or a related role. Experience in a business-to-business sales environment is preferred. Experience in wholesale, distribution, consumer packaged goods, grocery, retail, food and beverage, or a related industry is an asset. Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships and identify sales growth opportunities. Strong prospecting, lead-generation, negotiation, and follow-up skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional telephone and email etiquette. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities. High level of accuracy and attention to detail when preparing quotations and processing orders. Customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving and issue-resolution skills. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working toward sales targets. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with CRM, ERP, order-management, or inventory-management systems is an asset. Familiarity with Amazon, Shopify, Instacart, WooCommerce, or other e-commerce platforms is an asset. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related discipline is an asset. Additional language capabilities are considered an asset when supporting Canada’s multicultural retail market.
