About the role

Job Description We are currently searching for an Intermediate/Senior EIC Engineer to join our team in Saskatoon . You will lead the design and technical delivery of electrical, instrumentation, and controls projects on industrial, municipal, water and wastewater facilities throughout Western Canada. You will work with engineers, technologists, and support staff to provide electrical engineering services to a variety of internal and external clients. You will be active in the design, project management, and business development of power and automation systems with instrumentation to monitor low/medium voltage electrical service, process, metering, primary and secondary switchgear, motor control centres, low voltage electrical distributions systems, lighting, fire alarms, and security systems. Projects will include water and wastewater treatment plants, industrial sites, water and wastewater pumping stations, greenhouses, buildings and more. You will work closely with our skilled team of junior, intermediate, and senior engineers, technicians, and support staff across the country. You will also mentor and support junior and intermediate team members, supporting their growth and skill development.

As the successful candidate, you will have worked on team projects preferably with multi-discipline portions, are an excellent communicator with strong organizational skills, learn quickly, are excited to learn and thrive in a dynamic work environment. You strive to contribute to the collective effort of your area of practice and are committed to helping Associated Engineering and the project team achieve their goals.

Reporting to the Manager of the Electrical & Instrumentation group, you will join a high-performance team.

Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or an associated discipline from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • 5-15 years of relevant experience gained in a professional engineering workplace setting.
  • Registered, and in good standing, as a P.Eng. with APEGS.
  • Experienced in the design of medium and low voltage electrical systems, automation systems, metering, primary and secondary switchgear, motor control centres, instrumentation, low voltage electrical distributions systems, lighting, fire alarms, and security systems.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Committed team player.
  • Highly self-motivated.
  • Experienced in the preparation of proposals, project plans, and estimates.
  • Automation field experience.
  • Experienced in conducting field inspections and/or working with contractors.
  • Experiences in commissioning.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Project Management Experience an asset.
  • Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within Western Canada as required.
