Role Overview The HR Analyst plays a key role in optimizing HR effectiveness by identifying, designing and implementing process improvements across HR functional areas. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality reporting, analytics, and insights that support strategic human resources initiatives, inform decision making, and enhance organizational performance. The HR Analyst ensures data integrity, manages HR system administration, and provides strong support for HR program and strategic decision making in the form of custom reports, research and analysis. The HR Analyst exercises sensitivity and judgement in the performance of all aspects of their role, and a high level of discretion and professionalism when managing sensitive data and supporting HR leadership.

Role Responsibilities HR Systems Administration

  • Manages all modules within the HR Information Systems, including ongoing oversight and maintenance, role/security management, and updating configuration based on new functionality or changes in process
  • Leads system enhancement testing, implementation, and post-deployment validation. Supports the VP – Human Resources with large scale HR Systems projects and implementations
  • Creates and maintains user procedure guides, training materials, and documentation. Trains employees on new processes, technology, and system functionality
  • Designs and executes data integrity checks across all HR systems by running queries and analyzing data
  • Serves as first point of contact for client inquiries, troubleshooting issues related to the HR Systems and processes, and partnering with vendors or IT as needed
  • Maps current processes and identifies opportunities for automation, simplification, or redesign to increase overall HR efficiency
  • Monitors system usage and HR data trends to identify opportunities for additional process and system enhancements and improvements
  • Conducts data and process integrity checks to ensure compliance with internal processes and procedures

Reporting & Metrics

  • Generates and delivers recurring and ad-hoc HR reporting, metrics, and analytics to support the HR team and the business
  • Reviews and enhances existing reporting processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and value; designs/redesigns or automates reporting solutions as needed
  • Analyzes data to identify pattern and trends, translating findings into actionable insights and recommendations for HR and business leaders

HR Program Support

  • Supports HR audit activities by preparing and providing the appropriate reporting, documentation, and other evidence as required
  • Supports system administration and reporting for key HR programs, including performance management and employee engagement surveys
  • Collaborates with HR leaders to configure program tools, monitor participation, and prepare insights or summaries for stakeholders
  • Contributes to the design, rollout, and continuous improvement of HR programs to enhance employee experience and organizational effectiveness
  • Tracks program milestones, ensures data accuracy, and supports communications and training related to program activities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education preferably in Human Resources and obtained (or working towards) HR Management Certification
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant Human Resources experience with a focus on data analysis, reporting, or HRIS
  • Experience in HR Systems implementations including vendor and IT partnership, requirements gathering, integration, testing and implementation (e.g. ADP WorkforceNow, Cornerstone)
  • Advanced MS Office and data visualization tool skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Understanding of HR data domains (e.g. headcount, turnover, recruitment)
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze complex data, create reports, and provide actionable insights
  • Exceptional problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Customer focused with an ability to foster positive relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally

Salary Range Pay Range (CAD $): 65,000 -84,000

The above reflects an industry-benchmarked target compensation range. The salary offered may vary based upon the candidate’s skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business needs.
