AUTO WELD OPERATOR (Afternoons | 10-Hour Shifts, Mon–Thurs)
Location: 340 Huronia Road, Barrie, Ontario
Employment Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Shift Details: Monday - Thursday, 3:00pm to 1:00am (Afternoons)

POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the guidance of the Shift Supervisor, this position performs a variety of machine operating tasks. These duties include but are not limited to transporting rolls of fabric, reviewing specification sheets, machine setup, and overseeing the auto-weld and auto-seam machines for fabricating filter bags. As required, work on the industrial cutting table.
Note: Training for this role may initially take place on the day shift; however, the position will transition to the afternoon shift.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Produce work orders based on pre-established priorities provided by the Shift Supervisor
-
Transport rolls of fabric from the staging area in the warehouse to the auto weld/seam area using a dolly or pump truck
-
Review work orders to ensure correct material is available
-
Review specifications and use the digital setup system to input accurate parameters
-
Feed material through roller bars, adjust fittings, and set heat and speed functions accurately
-
Operate the welder/seamer to complete fabrication orders
-
Fabricate and assemble filter fabrics into the appropriate forms, ensuring accuracy based on work orders
-
Troubleshoot issues with automated machines and seek support from the Team Lead or Shift Supervisor when required

Assist in the cutting department, including mapping patterns and cutting materials to specification

Follow all company and departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards

Maintain a positive working relationship with team members and management

Organize and maintain a clean and efficient work area
QUALIFICATIONS

Experience reading and interpreting specification sheets, and performing machine setup.

Experience using an ERP system to scan work orders in and out.

Minimum 3 years of experience operating industrial machinery.
