Position Overview
Under the guidance of the Manager, Business HR, the Senior Human Resources Business Partner (SHRBP) will collaborate with senior leadership to ensure that people strategies are executed to meet business objectives and further enterprise strategic goals. This role acts as a strategic advisor, leveraging HR programs, tools, and services to drive organizational effectiveness. The SHRBP will also act as a liaison, being the key point of contact between senior leadership in the business and the People Safety Health & Wellness business unit. The SHRBP is responsible for leading a team of HR professionals engaged in providing business and advisory services to leadership.
They will be vital in contributing to the development and implementation of enterprise-wide HR initiatives, providing feedback to HR Centers of Expertise and ensuring the overall high quality service delivery from the People Safety Health & Wellness business unit.
Responsibilities
Provide consultation and advice on key strategic issues across the full suite of Human Resource related matters, including providing feedback to and collaborating with, all areas of HR. Support senior leadership in defining future state business/organization models and operating capabilities and design org structures/initiatives to support. Work directly with senior leadership to develop a workforce planning strategy for their business unit leveraging program, processes and tools developed by SME. Support and enable the building and management of strategic relationships with leaders across the business to proactively facilitate effective information sharing, decision making, and actions on people issues. Lead and inspire a team of HR professionals, contributing to a high-performing, strategic section that can meet the future requirements of Manitoba Hydro. Support HR Leadership in developing the HR Strategic plan and ensuring its alignment with business objectives. Identify key business opportunities and strategic initiatives and collaborate with other HR Departments on the execution and monitoring. Lead people-focused organizational change initiatives within the business through close collaboration with SME's. Promote and contribute to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices. Mentor and assist in the profressional development of other members of the Business HR department. Create an environment that reinforces positive work behaviour, encourages staff development, enables and fosters a customer-focused mindset, solicits feedback from customers and adjusts services accordingly while working to establish long term relationships.
Qualifications
A Business Degree (HR Major) from an institute of recognized standing and a minimum of six years of related progressive human resources experience, including a minimum of two years of leadership experience OR Equivalent combination of education and experience. A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation would be an asset. Demonstrated experience building collaborative working relationships with executive and senior management across the enterprise. Experience providing strategic consultation and advice, with the ability to champion and influence change and a willingness to take risks. Demonstrated ability to provide mature leadership in planning, organizing and managing multiple activities within strict timelines and in a challenging environment. Proven leadership skills and be recognized as someone who exhibits a positive attitude in the workplace. Demonstrated ability supervising, developing, and training staff. Experience leading a team of HR professionals and providing guidance and consultation on employee and labour relations matters. Strong business acumen with the ability to take business needs and translate into HR solutions. Proven track record of being able to influence others through thoughtful and strategic collaboration. In-depth knowledge and ability to provide guidance on HR practices, policies and programs. In depth knowledge of current Manitoba Hydro HR policies and Collective Agreements, and thorough understanding of Province of Manitoba Employment Standards, Human Rights legislation and other relevant legislation. Experience working with succession planning, talent management, organization design, employee experience, and workforce planning. Demonstrated ability to research, evaluate and develop new programs or recommendations using creative and innovative approaches to problem solving that represent the best overall interests of the enterprise. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Power Point, Teams, Excel and Outlook), SharePoint and other software, and a willingness to learn new technologies and lean into tech enablement. Familiar with and committed to the Corporation's diversity objectives and initiatives.
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $52.88-$72.45 Hourly, $101,332.40-$138,828.30 Annually.
