About the role
We are currently seeking to fill a Full-Time External Maintenance Coordinator role in our Fleet Repair & Maintenance facility office in Winnipeg.
Position Details:
The External Maintenance Coordinator, reporting to the Parts/Building Supervisor, is responsible to make arrangements with external shops for equipment maintenance, assist drivers with breakdowns and on the road repairs, negotiating rates for parts/service, vetting and maintaining a list of shops/towing companies and providing back up at the parts counter when coverage is needed due to absence among other duties and responsibilities. This position works in the Shop office and works closely with all external vendors & couriers related to Parts/Maintenance as well as internal customers within the company.
Shift: Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Ideally the successful candidate will have:
- Mechanical knowledge and background
- Industrial warehouse/retail parts experience preferred
- Truck & Trailer parts knowledge an asset
- Previous experience reviewing quotes and negotiating rates would be an asset
- Administrative skills & background (attention to detail for data entry, processing invoices etc.)
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Willing to work in a team environment (this role will provide support/back up occasionally to the parts desk)
- Strong initiative and work ethic
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn in-house software
- The successful candidate will require a reliable vehicle as our office is located outside of public transport.
