Salary: $69,892 to $81,541*
*While the complete grid is posted for transparency, our typical hiring rate is toward the lower end of the grid, with final salary decisions based on the candidate’s skills, education and relevant experience. This position is also eligible for performance pay as outlined in the CIA’s Compensation Policy.
POSITION SUMMARY
The senior coordinator, social media will help the CIA develop and maintain a successful social media presence. This new role is pivotal in enhancing the CIA’s brand across various social media platforms, driving potential member and member engagement and fostering a strong online community. They are responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the CIA’s social media channels and identifying top influencers and sources to engage with. The incumbent is responsible for content creation, analytics and reporting.
JOB DUTIES
- Craft and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with the CIA’s goals and objectives.
- Manage the social media calendar, helping drive the CIA’s social media strategy.
- Plan and create engaging and high-quality content, including text, images, and videos, tailored to different social media platforms and targeted audiences.
- Foster and coordinate online communities by engaging with followers, including responding to comments, queries and messages in a timely manner, to build a loyal and engaged audience.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on social media performance using key metrics to inform and optimize strategies.
- Use analytical tools to gauge the success of social campaigns and prepare regular reports.
- Work closely with marketing, education, membership, and other relevant teams to ensure cohesive messaging and branding.
- Provide social media coverage of events and activities as required.
- Remain current with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices to keep the CIA at the forefront of digital engagement.
- Contribute to social media strategic and operations planning.
- Provide guidance and training to internal teams and members on effective social media practices and tools.
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Marketing.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education and experience
- College diploma or certificate in marketing, social media management, public relations journalism, or comparable.
- Three to five years of experience in social media management in a professional environment, with a focus on strategy execution, analytics and reporting.
- Experience with a not-for-profit professional association and working with volunteers is an asset.
Knowledge and skills
- Excellent knowledge of social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, etc.), trends, analytics tools and best practices for businesses.
- Knowledge of social media ad placements and strategies.
- High proficiency working in the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud and other design tools.
- Strong writing, reviewing, and communication skills.
- Strong project management skills. Knowledge of Asana is an asset.
- Proven ability to juggle multiple and competing priorities with conflicting time constraints.
- Able to organize work independently and be a contributing team member.
Language requirement
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in French and English are required.
