Job Location: Moose Factory, Cochrane, or Timmins, ON

Position Summary:
Under the direct Supervision of the Director of Child and Family Well-Being Department this position will be responsible for developing a Program that will work in a consistent manner with our members. This program will have regular programming for Moose Cree’s membership that aligns with specific funding. The objectives are prevention and intervention activities which are critical to support the Wholistic and positive outcomes of our members. Wîcihiwewin kâ wawelihpitak will ensure programming to be developed at each level of direct and indirect service, for community-based prevention, family centered prevention and individual centered prevention. Developing and implementing the Cultural Team in a manner where outreach, culture and language will be at the forefront. Ensuring that budgets, reporting, communication schedules are communicated in a timely manner.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Post Secondary Education in Social Work, SSW, BSW, should have some knowledge or a background in Business Administration for the Infrastructure, Policy building.

  • Knowledge of building and organizing a new Organization with a new Law.

  • 2 + Years of experience working in the building capacity of Programming.

  • 3 plus years of Supervisory experience plus budgeting and reporting experience

  • Experience working within a First Nation is an asset, Moose Cree preferred.

  • Knowledge of Legislation: Familiarity with Bill C-92 and the Moose Cree First Nation’s law development process.

  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Coordination and Organization: Excellent coordination and organizational skills.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to foster collaboration.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Discretion and Confidentiality: Ability to exercise tact, discretion, and maintain confidentiality.

  • Legislative Knowledge: Understanding of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act.

  • Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication abilities.

  • Cultural Competency: Thorough understanding of the culture of the community served.

  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in the Moose Cree language is an asset.

  • Business Acumen: Background in business and financial management.

  • Reporting Skills: Capable of providing reports to the Director, committee, and Chief and Council as required.

  • Team Building: Proven ability to build effective teams and collaborate in various capacities.

  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License (Class G) is required

Salary: $88,003.50-$111,481.50

Duration: Permanent with 3-months probation
