Job Summary

The Technician, Staging and Support is responsible for the preparation and onsite implementation support of gaming equipment throughout gaming facilities. This role utilizes expertise in technical methodologies to focus on the player through effective gaming equipment preparation, onsite implementation, and continuous improvement of speed to market. The Technician, Staging and Support provides support as an operational project team member and works closely with Casino & Community Gaming Operations staff to ensure initiatives are completed in alignment with divisional priorities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supports department business plans and strategies to ensure the effective, efficient development and execution of gaming equipment staging and onsite implementation support are achieved in alignment with division strategies.
  • Proactively develops and maintains working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including organization project teams, vendors, contractors, and Service Providers in order to effectively resolve matters related to gaming equipment staging and onsite implementation.
  • Evaluates, adapts and develops department timelines in response to department priorities.
  • Establishes processes as a subject matter expert to work with internal stakeholders to ensure that gaming equipment staging and support is effectively prioritized, within the context of divisional strategies and business priorities.
  • Supports the development of and advises on policies, practices and/or procedures related to gaming equipment staging and onsite implementation support.
  • Draws on extensive technology and gaming equipment knowledge to provide technical training and knowledge transfer and perform the installation, maintenance, and repairs of technology and gaming equipment as required.
  • Conducts varied and moderately complex technical work related to the qualification of product through staging testing, technical integrity checks, and communicates deficiencies to vendors and various stakeholders.

Education and Experience

  • Recognized technical degree or diploma in electronics or relevant technical discipline;
  • 2-3 years previous technical staging experience or related background;
  • Experience in the gaming industry is an asset; An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Technical Requirements

  • Proven knowledge of principles, concepts, practices and techniques in the area of specialized electronic gaming device programs, software, and troubleshooting;
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with vendors and contractors;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking/innovation;
  • Solid comprehension of Gaming criteria under the Criminal Code of Canada would be an asset; Solid comprehension of Gaming policies, as defined by the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch would be an asset.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours as required;

  • Heavy lifting up to 50lbs is required;

  • Ability to safely use materials handling equipment, including forklift and electric pallet jacks and hand/furniture trucks.
