Senior Business Analyst – WIAM Migration
Location: Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid – 2 Days Onsite) Duration: 1 Year 9 Months Contract
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support the migration of WIAM metrics and reporting from a Microsoft SQL-based reporting environment into the enterprise data lake. The ideal candidate will bridge business, data, and technology teams to translate reporting and remediation requirements into scalable data solutions while ensuring data quality, governance, and auditability.
This role requires strong experience in business analysis, data migration, data analytics, reporting, and data validation within complex enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and data requirements. Support the migration of WIAM metrics and reporting from legacy SQL-based systems to enterprise data lake platforms. Collaborate with business, technology, and data teams to define reporting and remediation requirements. Perform data mapping, source-to-target mapping, and process mapping activities. Validate data quality, completeness, and accuracy throughout migration initiatives. Conduct data reconciliation and control validation to ensure audit-ready reporting. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), test planning, execution, and defect management. Work closely with data engineering teams on data ingestion, transformation, and reporting requirements. Ensure compliance with data governance, data lineage, metadata management, and control frameworks. Participate in cross-functional initiatives involving business, risk, audit, and technology stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field. 5–8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in enterprise environments. Strong experience supporting data migration, system transformation, or reporting modernization initiatives. Hands-on experience with large datasets, data pipelines, and ETL concepts. Advanced SQL skills for data analysis, reconciliation, and validation. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. Experience with requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder management. Proven expertise in data mapping, source-to-target mapping, and process mapping. Experience planning and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, controls, and compliance frameworks.
Preferred Technical Skills
Experience working with enterprise data lake platforms such as Databricks. Knowledge of data ingestion and transformation pipelines. Strong understanding of data lineage and metadata management. Experience performing data reconciliation, validation, and quality assurance. Familiarity with Power BI or similar reporting and visualization tools. Experience with SQL-based data extraction and reporting solutions.
Preferred Domain Experience
Regulatory, Audit, Risk Management, or Compliance environments. Information Security and Identity & Access Management (IAM/WIAM) initiatives. Enterprise reporting, remediation, and control validation programs.
