The Opportunity
The Pharmacy Reimbursement Specialist is primarily responsible for supporting
the billing team. The duties may include test billing, commercial billing conversion management of accounts receivables and payments, and maintaining and managing of the unfill prescription tracker.
The Pharmacy Reimbursement Specialist is required to work independently under
direction from the pharmacy operations manager, as well as within a team. This role will be hybrid but may require rotational on site pharmacy work.
A Day in the Life (What you will do here)
- Track commercialization efforts using Kroll and BI reports and various other tools
- Review and submit claims for specialty medications related to commercialization efforts
- Find opportunities to perfect billing for commercialization efforts
- Review the pharmacy transactional data and enhance billing policies and practices
- Follow up with patients, insurers, adjudicators, patient support programs for pharmacy claims
- Support the pharmacy team with accurate processing of prescriptions for all programs/medications
- Provide exemplary customer service in all interactions with patients and clients
- Manage and follow up on accounts receivable for the pharmacy as well as the outstanding balances generated through the commercialization efforts
- Maintain and manage the prescription unfill tracker
- Be the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders for the unfill prescription management
- Adhere to all relevant guidelines including the established Standard Operating Procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements as set out by the College of Pharmacists
- Assist with other duties as required
What you need to ensure you are set up for success

5+ years experience in pharmacy or reimbursement setting required

Specialty pharmacy experience preferred

Experience with Kroll billing preferred

Strong understanding of provincial public and private reimbursement

Problem solving and critical thinking skills required

Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting

Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage the workload efficiently
