Our corporate office is growing, and we are currently seeking a Payroll Analyst to join our payroll team. Reporting to the Senior Payroll Manager, the Payroll Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll across a portfolio of long-term care and retirement homes. This position supports the successful implementation and ongoing management of Ceridian Dayforce Payroll, with a strong focus on compliance with legislative requirements, internal policies, and collective bargaining agreements. Collaborating closely with home-level staff, third-party providers, and the finance team, the Payroll Analyst is responsible for maintaining data integrity, resolving payroll discrepancies, performing high-level audits, and contributing to the continuous improvement of payroll processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accurate and timely payroll for multiple long-term care and retirement homes using Ceridian Dayforce ensuring all transactions comply with internal policies, collective agreements, and payroll legislation.
  • Support Dayforce implementation through testing, data validation, audits, and rollout assistance.
  • Train and support home-level staff on payroll processes, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.
  • Acts as primary point of contact between the home level and corporate level for issue resolution
  • Collaborate with Finance on payroll account reconciliation and discrepancy resolution.
  • Manage year-end processes, including T4s, PIER, audits, and statutory reporting.
  • Ensure timely government remittances (EHT, WSIB, ROEs, garnishments, etc.).
  • Contribute to payroll policy development and maintain termination documentation standards.
  • Stay current with federal and Ontario payroll legislation, particularly in long-term care.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold privacy and fraud prevention best practices.
  • Liaise with third-party payroll providers to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
  • Complete ad hoc jobs and reports as needed.
  • Efficiently manage and resolve internal support tickets by monitoring queues, prioritizing issues, collaborating with relevant teams, documenting actions, maintaining service levels, and contributing to process improvements and knowledge base development.
  • Follow all internal and external procedures, Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) and required legislation.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • 2–4 years of full-cycle payroll experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, HR, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation (Federal and Ontario) and familiarity with CBAs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills; high attention to detail,

accuracy, and confidentiality.

  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce or other payroll systems such as ADP, Kronos, or SAP is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, inclusive team; experience in healthcare,

long-term care, multi-site environments, or with audits/government reporting is an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • This role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with 2-3 days per week remote.
  • The position requires reliable internet access and the ability to participate in video calls and team collaboration tools. Occasional travel to long-term care homes or the main office may be required for meetings or training.
  • Standard office hours apply, with some flexibility depending on project needs.
