Our Calgary office is currently seeking a full-time experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The successful candidate will be a career-focused individual that is excited to join a growth-oriented, entrepreneurial firm.
The Role
-
Efficiently and accurately perform full-cycle bookkeeping services for a variety of clients and industries primarily using cloud-based software such as Xero and QBO.

Record journal entries, complete bank reconciliations, and maintain accounts payable, accounts receivable, and capital asset details.

Prepare sales tax calculations, reconciliations and filings.

Prepare month-end financial reporting for clients.

Perform regular payroll duties for clients including calculating source deductions and T4/T5 preparation.

Maintain clear and regular communication with clients and colleagues.
What You Will Bring
-
2+ year of experience in full cycle bookkeeping or a related role required
-
Experience in working in cloud accounting software and applications such as Xero, QBO, Hubdoc, Wagepoint, etc.

High attention to detail and strong organization skills required

Active certifications in Xero and QBO preferred

Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices
-
Experience and an understanding of sales taxes and source deductions

Experience in desktop based software such as Sage and QuickBooks is an asset
-
Recent public accounting experience and familiarity with CaseWare, Microsoft Office, and Tax Prep would be an asset
-
Ability to excel in a fast paced environment, prioritize workloads, meet deadlines and thrive under pressure

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Values teamwork, client/customer service, professionalism, community involvement, and personal and professional growth

Experience with a public practice is considered an asset
