Job Description:
Students applying to this position must be in receipt of OSAP or out-of-province assistance during the current or prior academic year or must have a demonstrated financial need determined using Financial Aid and Student Awards standardized needs and assessment budget calculation tool.
Under the day-to-day leadership of the Supervisor, Enrolment Support Services, the Student Greeter is responsible for providing an exceptional welcome and effective direction while visiting Student Central.
Responsibilities:
- Acknowledges and greets all walk in clients to Student Central within established service standards.
- Directs the clients to appropriate section and or services available within Student Central.
- Communicates to other areas of Student Central as required.
- Acknowledges clients who are exiting Student Central within established service standards.
- Watches the main drop box and directs individuals as required.
- Conducts intercept surveys with customers to attain feedback on the Student Central experience, using Happy or Not kiosks.
- Resolves functional issues with the survey as they arise with the customer.
- Ensures that designated standing area and self-serve area is clear of clutter and stays presentable
- Assists students in self-help tasks using the self-help computers and printers
- Guides students in locating information to promote self-help awareness.
Required Qualifications:
- You must be currently enrolled in a full-time program. The following students are not eligible: Second Career, Apprenticeship Programs, International students, Algonquin College employees paying a reduced tuition, Collaborative programs with the University of Ottawa or Carleton University and all programs that are not Ministry-approved;
- You must be a Canadian citizen, a Permanent Resident, or a Protected Person/Convention Refugee within the meaning of subsection 95(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada) prior to the application deadline date;
- You must demonstrate a financial need by successfully applying for OSAP or out-of-province financial aid funding;
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Post secondary institution work experience (asset);
- Retail customer service experience (asset).
Anticipated Weekly Schedule:

Must be available within these hours Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 4:30 pm
