Residential Construction Site Supervisor

Job Description Our member is looking for a hardworking and dedicated Residential Construction Site Supervisor based in the Oakville, ON , region to join their growing team.
Role Responsibilities A site supervisor (also called a site manager or superintendent) manages the field operations, focusing on safety, quality, and workflow to keep the job on schedule.
- Daily site operations: Directs, delegates and coordinates the day-to-day activities of all tradespeople and laborers on the job site. Ensures the purchase orders are strictly followed. Takes notes during walkthroughs and meetings.
- Scheduling coordination: Works with subcontractors and suppliers to coordinate activities and ensure materials and equipment arrive on time.
- Quality control: Performs regular on-site inspections to ensure work meets quality standards, specifications, and building codes. Ensures sites are clean and orderly.
- Safety enforcement: Conducts and documents safety meetings, ensures compliance with safety regulations, and addresses any violations.
- Issue resolution: Identifies and resolves on-site problems and conflicts as they arise, escalating to the project manager when necessary.
- Workforce management: Trains, supervises, and motivates the construction team. May also be involved in hiring and disciplinary actions.
- On-site reporting: Documents daily progress, deliveries, and issues. Communicates updates directly to the project manager. Completes daily logs on Project management software. Forsees upcoming issues and reports to project manager.
- On-site inspections: Conducts inspections with the City required by permit and any reoccurring monthly or weekly maintenance inspections.
