Maintenance Utility Assistant

This is a full-time, permanent position.Regular Shift7:00am – 3:30 pm Wednesday - Sunday.
There will be times that the shift will need to be changed to accommodate vacations.

JOB SUMMARY:
TheMaintenance Utility Assistantsupports the maintenance and facilities team with a variety of day-to-day tasks, including general building maintenance, janitorial duties, and exterior upkeep, as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
JOB TASKS:
- Performs general facility maintenance including painting, plumbing, carpentry, wall repairs, and drain/trap unclogging
- Completes weekly and monthly preventative maintenance checks on lighting, emergency lighting, sprinkler valves, drain traps, chilled water systems, and water filters
- Maintains and cleans all water and ice dispensers
- Supports on-site contractors including sprinkler, pest control, and door/dock service providers
- Assists mechanical maintenance technicians by supporting with servicing and maintaining equipment as needed
- Operates forklifts and scissor lifts as required
- Sets up meeting rooms and installs/modifies office furniture, whiteboards, and signage
- Erects and repairs storage racking
- Addresses deficiencies identified through audits and inspections
- Performs janitorial duties including daily sweeping and washing of plant aisles, rag collection, and rodent trap monitoring
- Manages laundry preparation and distribution of rags, uniforms, and mats
- Maintains exterior areas including snow clearing, salting walkways, and keeping silos and pads free of debris
- Covers the duties of the Maintenance Assistant or Utility Person during periods of absence
COMPETENCIES:
- Must have strong time-management and organizational skills, able to multi-task effectively
- Must have strong mechanical aptitude
- Must have demonstrated strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy; detail-oriented
- Must have a proven ability to interact well with others
- Must have ability and willingness to work scheduled shifts
- Must have ability to lift items of 55 lbs and perform duties involving repetitive stretching motions, stair climbing, ladder climbing, and standing
REQUIRMENTS:
- Complete testing per WIN_0069 – General Hiring Practice Guidelines
- Secondary school (High School) diploma, or equivalent
PREFERRED:
- Experience working in a trade
- Experience working in a janitorial role
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
