About the Position:
Walters is recruiting a Co-op student to assist in the Sales/Estimating Department, in the Walters Corporate Office. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following:

Reviewing consultants 2D drawings or 3D models to perform material take-offs.

Estimating the cost to fabricate a wide range of steel structures.

Soliciting pricing from suppliers and partners.
-
Preparing price comparisons and sales proposals.
-
Assisting with construction planning such as crane locations.

Assisting with process and operational improvement.
Work Location:

Hamilton ON.
Position Requirements:
-
Presently enrolled in an Engineering, Technologist or Construction Management Program.

Experience in construction or metal fabrication is an asset.
-
Knowledge of mathematical concepts.
-
Ability to read structural and architectural drawings.
-
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
-
Good communication and collaboration skills.
-
Good time management.
-
Experience with Tekla or other 3D modelling software is an asset.
-
Experience with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Python, or other programming languages that interface with Microsoft Excel is an asset.
