About the Role:

Reporting to the Supervisor, Project Controls, the Project Controls Coordinator plays a key role in supporting project teams through effective cost management, forecasting, schedule analysis, reporting, and earned value management. Using the Project Controls Cost Management System (EcoSys), this role ensures accurate project cost tracking from initiation through closeout and supports effective decision-making across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and maintain project costs at the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) level, including control budgets, incurred costs, commitments, and forecasts.
  • Provide accurate, timely cost information and reporting to project teams.
  • Perform earned value measurements to identify trends and forecast impacts to cost and schedule.
  • Review cost transactions to ensure accuracy and alignment with project financials.
  • Conduct monthly project close activities and prepare monthly reports and capital cost estimate comparisons using Excel and EcoSys.
  • Prepare and document project change orders in alignment with Project Management Office (PMO) standards.
  • Maintain well-structured WBS frameworks that support project execution, cost control, accounting requirements, and asset creation.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers in regular meetings to review, analyze, and reforecast project costs.
  • Communicate effectively with the broader Project Controls team.
  • Liaise with Project Managers and Field Cost Analysts to ensure alignment on project progress, changes, risks, and issues.
  • Support Engineering Cost Associates with work order maintenance, invoice coding, and validation.
  • Participate in project meetings to stay informed about scope changes, cost impacts, schedule shifts, and overall progress.
  • Follow industry-standard practices and company processes in all work assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Controls or Project Management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Proficiency with SAP, Oracle, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.
  • Experience with EcoSys is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize workload, escalate issues appropriately, and build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with strong skills in data reconciliation and accuracy.
