Senior Program Managers support client strategy development, monitor issues, manage projects, coordinate intern research, and produce first round deliverables for clients as assigned. Senior Program Managers also support research and issues monitoring for new business and thought leadership development. Senior Program Managers report to Senior Vice Presidents and can oversee senior analysts and research associates.

Scope of Work

  • Lead and oversee day-to-day operations of an account workstream, anticipating challenges, troubleshooting problems, proposing solutions, monitoring developments in real time through research and networks, overseeing quality, and ensuring deadline and budget adherence.
  • Manage client deliverables for our clients within the Public & Government Affairs and Edelman global network.
  • Conduct value add research and analysis for client proposals, strategies, approaches for existing and new clients.
  • Supporting thought leadership development.
  • Delegate to junior staff and help motivate and coach team members; manage up to senior staff and consistently provide feedback that helps drive efficiency.
  • Contribute to business growth by introducing clients to new capabilities, building a network of industry contacts, and participating in relevant professional organizations.
  • Engage in direct lobbying efforts with the Government of Ontario, building and maintaining relationships with elected officials, public servants, and key stakeholders in the provincial political landscape to advance client priorities.

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 6+ years demonstrated track record of success in government, NGOs, associations, or private firms leading work related to relevant region or sector.
  • Proven experience working with the Government of Ontario, including engagement with public sector leaders, elected officials, and organizations within the provincial political environment.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Building expertise in the politics or policy of a sector or region.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proactive in nature, constantly curious with a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrates a keen interest in and deep understanding of global geopolitical affairs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to manage client teams and effectively communicating through various mediums such as phone, email, virtual meetings, and in-person interactions.
  • Thrives in a team-based collaborative environment that focuses on outcomes and can identify and implement the necessary processes to achieve success on behalf of clients.
  • Demonstrates exceptional communication skills.
  • Possesses a strong acumen in using Microsoft suite of software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams), capable of managing budgets and staffing projections, and effectively conveying ideas through presentations.
  • A willingness to work hard to achieve Public & Government Affairs and client objectives.
  • Digital literacy through the use of social and digital tools, channels, and platforms that drive public affairs activities with clients.
  • Exhibits superior writing and editing abilities, ensuring high-quality documents and content.
