The Sales Representative is responsible for achieving sales growth and profitability of the department and maintaining current customer relationships and creating new customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Promote sales to existing clients
  • Identify and solicit potential clients
  • Assess clients' needs and resources and recommend the appropriate goods or services
  • Provide input into product design where goods or services must be tailored to suit clients' needs
  • Develop reports and proposals as part of sales presentation to illustrate benefits from use of good or service
  • Estimate costs of installing and maintaining equipment or service
  • Prepare and administer sales contracts
  • Consult with clients after sale to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support
  • May train customers' staff in the operation and maintenance of equipment
  • May conduct sales transactions through Internet-based electronic commerce
  • Must participate in all training programs made available through Peterbilt or outside vendors
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ proven sales experience
  • Experience in heavy duty/medium duty trucks is an asset
  • Completion of Sales Training Program
  • Completion of Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree program is an asset
  • Knowledge of heavy duty/medium duty truck inventory
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong personal organizational skills as they relate to workload, time management and setting priorities in an unsupervised environment
  • Effective problem solving and negotiating skills
  • Effective conflict resolution skills

Compensation Rate

  • $45,000 - $50,000 annually + commission
