OpenText’s Product& Engineering (P) is a global organization driving the company’s most critical product innovation and delivery. Within P, the PMO enables execution excellence at scale. We are seeking aPrincipal Business Analystwith a strategic mindset, technical acumen, and strong consulting pedigree to help shape product narratives, executive keynotes, and competitive intelligence for leadership decision-making.

What the role offers

As a Principal Business Process Analyst, you will:

  • Partner across Product, Engineering, and Business teams to define and deliver strategic materials for executive presentations, keynotes, talks, and customer engagements, ensuring crisp, impactful narratives.
  • Lead or support end-to-end competitive analysis, including data collection, synthesis, and visualization using the latest AI tools and industry research methodologies.
  • Research and distill complex technology and AI trends into actionable, story-driven product insights suitable for C-level consumption.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, comparison matrices, and data-driven presentations that inform product decisions and business strategy.
  • Conduct regular market scanning, benchmarking, and quantitative analysis to shape OpenText’s product and partnership strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure analyses reflect real-world customer pain points, emerging opportunities, and technology shifts.
  • Support the development of business cases, strategic recommendations, and operational change initiatives using best-practice consulting and product management frameworks.

What you need to succeed

  • 6+ years in consulting (Consultant+ at McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or similar) or strategic product/market analyst role in tech/software as part of overall career (10+ years total career in Tech).
  • Advanced analytical skills and curiosity for AI, with experience leveraging machine learning and visualization tools to drive business impact.
  • Strong understanding of competitive analysis concepts—SWOT, benchmarking, dashboards, market scanning—with demonstrated results.
  • Proven ability to distill complex technology concepts and AI narratives into clear, executive-level presentations and written materials.
  • Comfortable partnering with subject-matter experts to assess market, product, and partner landscapes, and to formulate robust recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience with PowerPoint, Excel, and data visualization platforms is strongly preferred.
  • Growth mindset, self-starter energy, and strong personal ownership of deliverables and timelines.
