The Senior Configuration Control Specialist is responsible for the management and administrative control of the aircraft, engines and component parts, material configuration, and aircraft software configuration.
Key deliverables include:
- Validate aircraft and software parts and tools, and technical acceptability for installation or use on the WestJet Fleet including afterhours AOG support
- Entry of aircraft and software parts and tool data into WestJet’s maintenance and engineering system (TRAX/eMRO)
- Provide new part approvals
- Manage the PMA approval process to ensure necessary data, analysis and approvals are complete
- Provide 24/7 on call support part validation and interchangeability
- Resolve higher and lower assembly applications and assist with identification for unique application problems
- Research technical documents including service bulletins, airworthiness directives, supplementary type certificates, production and vendor drawings
- Maintain processes revolving around aircraft and software part configuration
- Maintain the integrity of the aircraft and software part configuration in the TRAX/eMRO application
- Liaise with Fleet Engineering to maintain part number master requirements and compliance
Experience and qualifications:

Must possess an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License (M or E rating) and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Minimum 5 years of experience working on large transport category aircraft

Familiarity with Boeing 787, 737, and Dehavilland DHC-8 400 considered an asset

Advanced proficiency and technical understanding of WestJet’s maintenance and engineering system (TRAX/eMRO) preferred

Strong research skills and ability to interpret complex information from various aircraft document sources

Excellent technical writing and editing skills
-
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

Relevant Degree or Diploma from a recognized college or technical school
-
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
