About The Role
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our Agents & Automations team within the North platform, Cohere’s innovative AI workspace platform designed to transform enterprise AI utilization. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing core platform capabilities that enable customers to create, deploy, and manage AI-powered workflows. Your work will span across frontend, backend, and AI‑powered systems, focusing on building reliable, scalable, and user-centric features. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining features that help users turn natural language intents into automated workflows, enhance analytics, improve debugging tools, and simplify complex enterprise automations. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of AI and enterprise software, making a tangible impact on how organizations automate and optimize their business processes.
Qualifications
Proven experience in building, shipping, and operating production software used by real users or customers Strong proficiency in backend and frontend development, with experience across product, data, and infrastructure boundaries Solid understanding of software engineering principles and best practices Experience with Python, TypeScript, React, Postgres, and Kubernetes is preferred Excellent product judgment with a keen eye for user experience details High level of autonomy, proactive problem-solving skills, and ability to drive change Strong communication skills for collaborating across distributed teams Ability to adapt and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment Interest in applying AI to enhance software development and enterprise workflows
Responsibilities
Design, develop, ship, and maintain core features for North’s Agents & Automations platform Create product features that enable users to build, run, debug, evaluate, and improve AI agents and automation workflows Own features end-to-end, from technical design to implementation, testing, and iteration Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, AI modelers, and customer-facing teams to define goals and deliver measurable outcomes Make informed technical decisions that balance speed, quality, and user impact Utilize AI actively in your work to enhance system capabilities while ensuring reliability and robustness Develop debugging tools, analytics, and workflow primitives to simplify complex automation building processes Contribute to the continuous improvement of platform observability, evaluation systems, and feedback loops
