About the role

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing general property maintenance on several properties in Campbell River, as well as assisting at a privately-run resort as needed. The role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, utilizing a variety of company tools, vehicles, equipment, while adhering to strict company safety procedures. The Maintenance Technician must be able to work as an active part of the team proving general handyman skills and a willingness to tackle everyday maintenance needs.

Your contributions to the team include:

  • Diagnose and repair basic to intermediate plumbing, heating, and electrical problems
  • Perform repairs on windows, blinds, doors, switches, plugs, appliances, equipment, fixtures, and flooring (carpet, vinyl, ceramic tile)
  • Complete painting, drywall patching, mudding, and taping
  • Maintain the building exterior, including grounds upkeep, snow/ice/debris removal from pathways and parking lots
  • Detect and report faulty operations, defective materials, and other deficiencies to the supervisor.
  • Ensure high client satisfaction through excellent customer service and communication
  • Run errands, assist with pickups and drop-offs for properties, resort, and office (including travel down island or to the mainland as required)
  • Set up and take down holiday-themed displays, including lights and decorations

What you need to be successful:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a maintenance related role
  • Completion of relevant trade, technical certification, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of hand tools and repair equipment
  • Experience using computers, smartphones, and tablets; used for email, electronic work order applications, timesheets
  • Availability to work on-call on rotational basis
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
