About the role

Position Summary We are seeking aQuality and Safety Specialistto support and strengthen quality, patient safety, and accreditation activities across our Medical Imaging department. This role plays a critical part in fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and regulatory excellence—working collaboratively with clinical leaders, technologists, and quality partners. The successful candidate will lead and coordinate quality system activities, investigate safety events, support process improvement initiatives, and contribute to achieving and maintaining Medical Imaging accreditation, includingISO 15189 Plusstandards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards

  • Support development, implementation, and monitoring of departmental quality systems

  • Lead and support development and revision of policies, procedures, and SOPs

  • Apply formal quality improvement methodologies (e.g., PDSA, LEAN, RCA, FMEA) to support implementation of quality improvement initiatives and projects

  • Maintain working knowledge of Medical Imaging workflows, risks, and modality-specific safety considerations

  • Proactively identify and mitigate safety risks within Medical Imaging

  • Chair and coordinate the Medical Imaging Quality and Safety Committee

  • Collaborate with Radiation Protection Officers (RPO), Radiation Safety Officers (RSO), managers, and operations leaders to ensure compliance with safety standards

Required Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of quality assurance and/or quality improvement methodologies, with demonstrated education and experience.

  • Strong familiarity with the Medical Imaging Department and its operations.

  • College Diploma in relevant field.

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft office

  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment as well as independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
  • Certificate in Quality Management or equivalent
