Hatfield is seeking a Cloud Information Systems Technician to join our Information Services and Technology (IST) team. The successful candidate will support the operations and management of a wide variety of cloud-based information systems. These systems include both commercial and in-house applications hosted on Azure, running on Kubernetes, Linux and Windows virtual machines, and other Azure services.

Responsibilities

Support and maintain operational cloud-based information systems. This includes provisioning and configuring cloud resources, creating maintenance plans, applying security patches, rotating secrets, updating applications, and migrating applications to new environments. Monitor security updates for all systems, including system dependencies, and work to ensure all vulnerabilities are addressed on a timely basis. Write, execute, and maintain runbook procedures for the operational maintenance of all systems. Where possible, write scripts or other tools to automate the maintenance of all systems. Maintain approved software environments, Python packages, dependencies, and container images. Provide end-user support and training for system changes. This can include creating, delivering, and maintaining end-user training and documentation for each system. Participate in cost optimization, forecasting, and reporting for all cloud infrastructure. Support all disaster recovery plans and procedures. Occasional after-hours work may be required to maintain the integrity and efficiency of our systems.

Education and Experience

Formal education in Computer Systems Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field is preferred, but not required. 1 to 3 years of experience is preferred. Experience with Linux and Windows servers. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with Azure or other cloud systems (AWS or GCP). Experience with various programming languages including Python, Go, PowerShell, and bash. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Other Assets / Skills

Strong operational procedure driven work ethic. Experience with Infrastructure-as-code, particularly bicep scripts. Experience with DevOps tooling, particularly with ArgoCD. Experience developing or supporting platforms operating on Kubernetes.
