About the role

  • Assists with prototype build co-ordination, both in house and at offsite locations (MTC or others). Work with program managers to support the entire process, from initiation to shipment.
  • Assists with the overall prototype activity tracking and resource planning to ensure resources are available to support customer and internal demands.
  • Assists with testing co-ordination (DV & PV), working with program managers and offsite test labs to ensure all test requirements, parts availability and confirming test set-ups.
  • Assists with overall testing activity tracking and resource planning to ensure resources are available to support customer and internal demands both at the in-house test lab and offsite such as MTC.
  • Ensure that all test specifications are well understood and can be properly validated.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement activities for current production programs, manage the process through idea generation, feasibility study and evaluation, and implementation.
  • Participate in VAVE workshops prior to product launch and after Job 1. Work with the team to establish measurement indicators for cost improvements, efficiencies, etc.
  • Support production and pre-production programs as required by the APQP manager.
  • Update and maintain testing cost estimates for RFQ purposes.
  • Ensure that the product is manufactured to all engineering/customer and manufacturing specifications.
  • Assists in gathering data and supporting technical tasks.
  • Responsible to keep the communication lines open between the various departments, including production, toolroom, quality assurance, and engineering departments. This also includes communicating with associates at other Multimatic Divisions as required.
  • Keep Management informed on the status of assigned projects on a regular basis. All critical items on the projects must be brought to Management's attention immediately.
  • Provide technical support on product launches both within the company and at the customer.
  • Investigate, analyse, and present cost saving proposals to management and program teams.
  • Ensure all correspondence pertaining to projects are tracked and distributed accordingly.
  • Investigate and keep abreast of new state of the art technologies, which may enhance the profitability of the company.
  • Support the preparation of internal quotes for new/existing programs and engineering changes, submit for review/approvals, prepare customer breakdowns and review for completeness.
  • Establish project-timing parameters and ensure schedules are maintained.
  • Dedicate your efforts towards maximizing the profitability of the company.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the company and its business.
  • Aid in meeting or exceeding all objectives/requirements of the business plan.
  • Maintain good employee relations.
  • Observe all company safety rules, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure a high standard of business ethics is maintained.
  • May assist with customer-related tasks but not responsible for direct communication.
  • Ensure that the APQP Manager and relevant Program Managers are updated on a continuous basis regarding program & project status.
  • Works independently under supervision and supports program execution as directed.
  • Once aware of a product or process non-conformance, to stop further processing and inform area supervisor or manager responsible.
