What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Senior Director, Simplii Financial, the Director, Product Management is accountable for end-to-end ownership of Everyday Banking and non-registered Savings experiences. This includes the foundational capabilities clients rely on to store, grow, access, move, and manage money day to day, as well as the underlying platform and servicing experiences that build trust, reliability, and scale. The Director sets the product vision and strategy for Everyday Banking and Savings, defines success metrics and outcomes, and leads cross functional teams to deliver measurable customer and business impact. This role translates Simplii’s business strategy into clear product direction, balancing customer needs, regulatory and risk requirements, operational realities, and technology constraints. Operating with a high degree of independent judgment, the Director drives prioritization and investment tradeoffs, leads teams through complex and ambiguous problem spaces, and influences senior stakeholders across Simplii and the broader bank. This role is both a product leader and people leader, responsible for building strong product talent, establishing quality standards, and reinforcing a customer first, outcome driven product culture.

How you'll succeed
- Product development and strategic planning - Accountable for the end-to-end product strategy, outcomes, and evolution of Everyday Banking and Savings experiences, including the core banking foundations that underpin customer trust and usability (such as account servicing, balances, transactions, interest and fee transparency, statements and records, account status, and service reliability), savings experiences that enable clients to build, protect, and grow balances over time while understanding progress and making confident decisions about liquidity and use of funds, the everyday money management layer that helps clients understand their financial status and usage, and intersections with money movement and account usage that materially affect funding, liquidity, and day-to-day banking confidence.
- Team management - Lead, motivate, and coach the team on an ongoing basis by setting appropriate context when assigning work to align individual roles with business unit priorities and Simplii’s overall goals, managing performance through fair and accurate feedback, removing obstacles, and clarifying expectations, creating a positive work environment and serving as a role model by championing Simplii’s mission, vision, and values, ensuring compliance with policies, standards, guidelines, and controls, and hiring the right people in the right roles to align capabilities with job requirements and business unit objectives.
- Cross functional relationship - Engage and collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders across Direct Financial Services, Alternate Solution Group, and Retail and Business Banking lines of business—including Digital Channels, Credit Cards, Payments & Innovations, Product, Marketing, and Contact Center—as well as various other Simplii departments such as Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Treasury, Finance, and Risk Management, and with external vendors including third-party processors, payment associations, credit bureaus, and others.
- Compliance requirements and responsibilities - As an employee of Simplii, the incumbent must comply with all applicable Simplii and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines and controls. As a people leader, this job must ensure all employees within the business unit comply with all applicable Simplii and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines and controls. Working with Legal and Compliance, is aware, informed and responsible for adherence to Regulatory requirements, standards and guidelines for the credit card and payments industry.
- Authorities and decision rights - As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes in order to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness, and as a manager of people, has the authority to assign tasks to employees within their span of control, select individuals for hire, assess individual performance, make employee compensation decisions, and take disciplinary measures up to and including termination.
Who you are
- Extensive experience in financial services (10+ years), with deep exposure to Everyday Banking (chequing), savings, or core consumer banking domains; proven experience leading product management at scale, including setting product vision and strategy, defining outcomes and success metrics, and owning delivery across complex, regulated environments; and post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of Everyday Banking and Savings ecosystems, including core banking foundations, money management behaviors, servicing, and the operational and regulatory considerations that shape client experiences; demonstrated understanding of deposit economics, including drivers of net interest income (NII), balance growth, retention, and trade-offs between customer value and financial outcomes; demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into clear problem statements, prioritized use cases, and measurable outcomes; and strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to balance customer value, risk, operational realities, and technology constraints when making prioritization and investment trade-offs.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in high ambiguity, independently framing problems, driving clarity, and guiding teams through complex decision spaces; strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret complex data, identify patterns and trends, and develop well-reasoned recommendations in response to urgent business priorities; and demonstrated leadership and influencing skills, with experience working across senior stakeholders and multiple functions to align on strategy, priorities, and outcomes.
- Experience building, coaching, and developing high-performing product teams, setting clear expectations around product thinking, quality, and outcome ownership; excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex topics and influence executive audiences through clear narratives and data-driven insights.
