We are seeking a Team Lead, Auto PD Claims to support, coach, and develop a team of adjusters while also managing a personal portfolio of claims. This is an ideal opportunity for a high-performing adjuster ready to step into leadership without losing touch with the technical side of claims handling.
What you will be doing
- Manage, coach, and support a team of Auto PD Adjusters, providing guidance on claim handling, coverage interpretation, and liability decisions.
- Handle a personal caseload of auto PD claims, including investigation, liability assessment, coverage review, and settlement negotiation.
- Monitor team performance, workflows, and file quality to ensure timely, compliant, and customer-focused claim resolution.
- Conduct file reviews, audits, and coaching sessions to support continuous development and consistency across the team.
- Act as a technical resource and escalation point for complex or high-severity claims.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment aligned with company values.
- Communicate effectively with claimants, policyholders, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless claims experience.
- Support process improvements, best practices, and regulatory compliance across the claims function.
- Partner with leadership to support team development, recruitment, and performance management initiatives.
What you bring to the team
- 5-7 years of Auto PD claims experience, with demonstrated technical expertise
- Post-secondary education and/or working towards CIP designation (asset)
- Prior leadership, mentoring, or coaching experience (formal or informal) is a strong asset
- Proven ability to manage both a caseload and team responsibilities effectively
- Strong knowledge of automobile insurance coverage, liability, and claims best practices
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
- Ability to coach, motivate, and develop others while driving performance results
- High level of organization, accountability, and decision-making capability
- Post-secondary education and/or CIP designation (or working toward) is an asset
- Proficiency in MS Office and claims management systems
- A leadership style grounded in empathy, professionalism, and collaboration
