About the role

Make a Difference Every Day in Patient Care! Join Our Team as a casual X-Ray Technologist (Medical Radiology Technologist)!

At Canada Diagnostic Centres, we are driven by helping Canadians access diagnostic services and providing remarkable experiences to our patients every day. Our care is compassionate, accurate and timely to help patients make progress in their health journey. We live by a mantra of “Remarkable Care. Remarkable Careers.”

We are currently looking for casual X-Ray Technologists to join our expanding outpatient clinic practice. In this role, you’ll use modern x-ray equipment to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging while ensuring patients are supported throughout exams and procedures. That work includes explaining procedures, positioning patients, adjusting equipment, and capturing optimal images, while working closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to support timely access to accurate diagnoses.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Perform X-Ray Exams: Conduct standardized and complex imaging under the direction of Radiologists and referring Physicians, while adhering to departmental protocols and guidelines.
  • Provide Compassionate Care: Explain exams and procedures, address questions, ease concerns, and help patients feel comfortable.
  • Collaborate with Clinic Teams: Partner with radiologists and other teams to help deliver a seamless and thoughtful experience.
  • Expand Expertise: Engage in ongoing professional development to refine existing skills, build new competencies, and cross-train in additional modalities such as Bone Mineral Density, Mammography, or specialized procedures in Fluoroscopy.
  • Ensure Compliance: Follow privacy, confidentiality, safety, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and Troubleshoot Systems: Track x-ray equipment performance, document findings, and resolve basic issues.
  • Prepare and Maintain Work Areas: Prepare and stock exam rooms for patient exams and procedures; report low inventory as needed.
  • Contribute to Team Development: Assist with the training of new team members and students.

What We’re Looking For

  • Professional Membership: Active registration (or eligibility) with CAMRT & ACMDTT or CSCLXT & ACCLXT.
  • X-Ray Experience: Clinical competency in radiography with an interest in refining and expanding skills.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Exposure to fluoroscopy, mammography, bone mineral density or interventional x-ray procedures is an asset. An interest in learning and developing skills in any of these areas is welcomed.
  • A Compassionate Approach: A history of empathetic care, collaboration, adaptability, and flexibility.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Pay: Earn between $36 to $49 per hour, with opportunities to maximize your income through evening and weekend shifts, industry-leading shift premiums, and for expanding your skillset.
  • Sign-On Bonus: A welcome incentive for joining our team (terms and conditions apply).
  • Relocation Allowance: Financial assistance for eligible candidates to help with moving expenses.
  • Generous Time Off: Vacation, personal days, sick leave, and paid time off for your birthday to help you recharge and balance life.
  • Health & Wellness: Medical, dental, and vision benefits, plus access to our Employee & Family Assistance Program for additional resources.
  • Learning & Development: Access to specialized training opportunities (including Mammography), along with an annual education allowance to enhance your professional growth.
  • Comprehensive Onboarding: Hands-on structured training designed to ensure a smooth transition into your role.
  • Retirement Savings: A matching RRSP/TFSA plan to help secure your financial future.
  • Onsite Parking: Convenient access to make your commute easier.
  • Coverage for Annual Memberships & Insurance: Funding available for CAMRT and ACMDTT memberships, or CSCLXT and ACCLXT, including insurance coverage.
  • Income Protection: Short-term and long-term disability coverage providing peace of mind.
  • Life Insurance: Coverage to protect you and your loved ones.

Additional Information

  • Work Across Multiple Locations: Clinic location preferences and our current operational needs will be discussed during interviews.
  • Out-of-Province Applicants: Eligibility for registration with CAMRT and ACMDTT, or CSCLXT & ACCLXT is required.
  • New Grads Welcome: We’re excited to support your growth within our dynamic team.
