Position Summary:

Reporting to the Resident Care Manager, the Occupational Therapist (OT) will provide leadership and support for occupational staff. They also will plan, implement and deliver goal-oriented treatments, programs and services designed to improve the functional skills of the residents.
This position will:
- Model the organizations mission, vision, and values, consistently representing Covenant professionally and positively
- Collaborate effectively as a professional team player, supporting the achievement of Covenant’s Mission, Vision, and Values
Qualifications:
This position requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of all resident, family and staff information.
The position requires the ability to communicate in all forms (reading, writing, clear verbal articulation and active listening) to implement recommendations and develop plans and procedures in accordance with Covenant Care’s protocol and with applicable legislation. Information shared is highly technical and requires mathematical skills as well as the ability to read and analyze reports and data. The chosen candidate will be confident in performing AADL assessments, seating assessments, motorized wheelchair assessments, and MoCA cognitive assessments.
- Certificate of registration with the Alberta Association of Registered Occupational Therapist required
- Basic Rescuer CPR required
- AADL authorisation required
- Minimum of two (2) years experience as an Occupational Therapist
- One (1) year of experience in physical medicine and/or geriatrics specialties preferred
- Capable of performing AADL assessments
- Capable of performing seating assessments
- Capable of performing motorized wheelchair assessments
- Capable of performing MoCA cognitive assessments
- Capable of working independently as well as working within a team environment
- This position requires you to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and all other required communicable diseases under Covenant Care’s OHS policy

Covenant Care offers a very competitive compensation and benefits package.
All employees new to Covenant Care must provide a criminal record check not older than 6 months ahead of your commencement date. Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Person Screening processing is taking much longer than typical (3 to 4 weeks) and that commencing the process in advance is advisable. Not having your CRC will delay your ability to commence employment.
