Job Purpose
The ECE Instructor – ECE Program will support the Program Manager – ECE Program to oversee and be responsible for all Academics, Compliance, and Management of the ECE Program; Manage or Assist with recruitment where applicable; and Support or manage any other Activities or Projects for OIEG North America as assigned
Main Duties and Responsibilities General Uphold Oxford International rules, regulations, policies, procedures and standards at all times Assist the owners and directors with the day-to-day operations of Oxford International Assist with administrative functions outside of the realm of education delivery when necessary Maintain current knowledge and skills as they relate to industry trends, issues, programs, etc. Ensure all correspondence receives a response within one business day Meet budget and expense management requirements and policies at all times Cooperate with other staff to meet goals and deadlines outside of this job description
Business and Corporate Functions Support with the key elements of the ECE Business Plan and budget accordingly as they pertain to the role Participate in any association work on behalf of the company when necessary or required if applicable ECE Operations - General Ensure successful day-to-day operations of the ECE program Ensure all inquiries/emails receive a response within one business day Ensure the premises are maintained in accordance with Oxford International Quality Standards; tidy and clutter free.
ECE Operations - Human Resource Management Provide leadership within the ECE program Help ensure new ECE staff have a welcoming onboarding process
ECE Operations - Quality & Compliance Support Senior Directors in ensuring all necessary associations, accreditations, licenses, civic, state, national, and international registrations, filings, other compliance requirement registrations are kept up-to-date, followed, and enforced for the ECE program Liaise with Labour and Advanced Education and ECE Program Advisory Committee as required to stay current with rules and requirements Ensure OI complies with all ECE program standards and PCC regulations as outlined by the departments. Ensure proper measures are maintained to safeguard all students, staff, clients, and partners Participate in any Association work on behalf of the Company when necessary or required Ensure all Oxford International Quality Standards are adhered to at all times Ensure all OI service and academic quality standards are adhered to at all times. Communicate collaboratively and pro-actively with internal and external program stakeholders. Coordinate and monitor student work placements, as required.
ECE Operations - Academic Program Ensure execution and quality of classes in compliance with ECE curriculum and our online platform Assist with management and updating of ECE curriculum as required, in coordination with relevant Senior Directors Provide theoretical, practical instruction/advisement, in accordance with the Nova Scotia Childcare Regulations, Nova Scotia Pre-Primary Program regulations and OI’s Early Childhood Education Curriculum. Plan and prepare instructional materials and resources that use a variety of teaching methods to promote student success. Create an environment that is conducive to learning and student development. Ensure students from diverse ethnic and language backgrounds are welcomed and supported. Contribute to a healthy, secure, and safe learning environment both in class and during placements. Maintain records of student attendance, grades, lab, and/or homework assignments. Build and sustain professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and other stakeholders. Monitor students’ progress in the classroom and placement settings. Provide 1:1 student performance counselling/feedback sessions and advising students regarding academic matters Ensure implementation of school rules and regulations Ensure counselling of students in accordance with school guidelines Ensure fair and timely management of student disputes Ensure appropriate management of student discipline issues Actively assist with execution of student orientations and graduations Ensure appropriate certificates granted to graduating students Help ensure instructor resources, equipment, materials, and supplies are maintained and updated as required and in accordance with the school budget Ensure “wow” moments for students take place on a regular basis
