We are currently recruiting for a caring and dedicated temporary full time**LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE.**This position has the title of Supportive Services Supervisor. This is an exciting temporary full-time position for a professional and reliable candidate who is able to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment.

TheSupportive Services Supervisor - Licensed Practical Nurseresponsibilities include scheduling of staff and tasks, evaluation, supervision, training, quality control, recruitment and oversight of Independent Living Assistants (HCA’s). In addition, theSupportive Services Supervisor - Licensed Practical Nursewill work closely with AHS Case Managers, and will also schedule and delegate authorized personal care services for clients to the ILA’s.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedule and prioritize support services in collaboration with Home Care Nurse.
  • Receives comments/information from staff and reports to the Home Care Nurse/Clinical Compliance Lead/Manager changes in individual Resident conditions, behaviour, participation in unusual activities; and over-all care needs.
  • Supervise, train and evaluate Independent Living Assistants (HCAs).
  • Assign daily tasks to ILAs, ensuring alignment with care plans.
  • Oversee quality control in service delivery, including laundry and meal service.
  • Manage ILA orientation and disciplinary actions.
  • Provide LPN services as authorized, including medication administration.
  • Liaises with Pharmacies regarding medication changes and concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse certificate and registration in good standing with the CLHA is required.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is required.
  • Minimum two years' experience providing services to the elderly in a Supportive Living environment is preferred.
  • Experience in scheduling and supervising health care staff.
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office Word and Excel, and ability to learn new programs.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrates leadership and problem-solving abilities.

ALL SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES MUST HAVE PRIOR TO START DATE:

  • A current and clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained on more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date.
  • A tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months prior to the hire date.
  • Completion of all Hepatitis B vaccines.
