As an Asset Management Strategist with Calgary Housing (CH), you will ensure that the assets of Calgary Housing (CH) are managed effectively so that they continue to provide value. Your work includes managing project funds and funding requirements, collecting, maintaining and sharing asset information, lifecycle planning, making recommendations on long-term strategic asset planning and promoting effective asset management practices. Primary duties include:

  • Assist in determining the lifecycle projects required, how to lower lifecycle cost and how to manage funding shortfalls by conducting customized analysis.
  • Manage the lifecycle investments against various sources. Monitor investment of current projects, confirm funding of projects, ensure funding constraints are met, and normalize multi-year spending to ensure resources are not strained.
  • Ensure data is accurate and report regularly on the health of funds.
  • Maintain, increase the maturity and implement best practices within CH¿s asset management program.
  • Conduct and implement ISO 55000 Asset Management standards.
  • Obtain ISO 55000 certification.
  • Review, update and standardize all existing construction scopes and standards in use by CH.
  • Plan and project manage the building condition assessment and accessibility project to collect critical property information.
  • Maintain an asset registry.
  • Plan, report, and distribute information to various CH teams to ensure data driven decision making.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Building Sciences or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in Asset Management or Facility Management with management practices pertaining to physical assets in accordance with ISO 55000.
  • Real estate knowledge working with housing assets is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO internal and external audit process.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with Asset Management software.
  • A Class 5 Drivers License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits, no current suspensions or charges pending, and access to a personal vehicle for business use.
  • Courses in building mechanical systems, building construction materials and methods, estimating and specifications, building and site condition assessments, building lifecycle management (operation and maintenance), and Asset Management will be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience with Yardi Construction will be an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain collaborative professional relationships, combined with a demonstrated customer focus.
  • Strong project management, negotiation, collaboration, and issue management skills.

Compensation: Pay Grade 11 $44.76 - 59.84 per hour

Days of Work: This position works a 5 day

work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
