About the role

**Director of IT(Permanent)

Location: Vancouver, BC** Staffing Placement Opportunity We are seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Director of Technology to drive the transformation of our organization from a technology-enabled to a technology-driven company. This role will place technology at the center of our business, leveraging advanced tools, software, and data to deliver services efficiently while maintaining the integrity and reliability of core IT systems.

Working closely with senior and functional department leaders, the incumbent will lead the evolution of the Business Technology team to focus on technology opportunities, aligning and prioritizing investments that support business and operational goals, whether to enhance efficiency or develop sustainable competitive advantages.

Key Responsibilities Technology Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute firm-wide integrated technology roadmaps aligned with strategic and tactical objectives.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to guide investments in digital tools and data management.
  • Champion technology as a driver of business success.
  • Develop approaches to data governance that support effective launch and adoption of new technologies.

Service Delivery Integration

  • Collaborate with department leaders to embed digital tools and workflows into project delivery processes.
  • Lead initiatives that enhance services and client relationships through technology.
  • Establish feedback loops to identify areas where technology can reduce friction, lower costs, and improve quality and effectiveness.

Enterprise Systems Oversight

  • Oversee and optimize enterprise platforms (e.g., Microsoft stack, ERP systems, HR platforms), ensuring integration, usability, and business value.
  • Develop and implement a cohesive data strategy to ensure governance and usability.

IT Operations

  • Oversee core IT functions: network, hardware, cloud services, cybersecurity, end-user support, and disaster recovery.
  • Manage vendor relationships and technology contracts for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

Team Development & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Develop IT and Business Technology teams, focusing on skill sets required to deliver business impact.
  • Supplement internal expertise with value-added consultants when needed.
  • Serve as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex digital initiatives into business-relevant concepts.
  • Support change management and adoption of new tools, ensuring buy-in from all teams.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in IT leadership, enterprise systems management, or business technology strategy, preferably within consulting, engineering, or professional services firms.
  • Proven record of business and functional impact.
  • Deep practical experience with the Microsoft technology stack.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, systems integration, and enterprise software implementation.
  • Experience integrating digital tools into service delivery and enabling client-facing innovation.
  • Strong project management skills with successful cross-functional execution.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to lead through influence in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience in a multi-office, distributed team environment is preferred.
