JOB OPPORTUNITY – Help Desk Technician

The Help Desk Technician’s role is to provide initial contact and courteous, timely, and effective problem resolution for users with hardware, software, and application issues. Responsibilities include:

  • Identify and learn applications and end-user hardware used and supported by the organization
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems; escalate complex issues to senior team members or external vendors as needed
  • Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, including account setup and provisioning of equipment and software
  • Manage user accounts and file permissions within a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Create and maintain accurate technical documentation
  • Keep an up-to-date inventory of devices, peripherals, and software
  • Support and maintain mobile devices and corporate phone systems

Qualifications

  • Self-motivated team player with strong analytical, problem solving, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential
  • Professional and courteous communication skills
  • A+ certification or equivalent work experience
  • Microsoft certifications are an asset
  • Minimum of one year or two academic terms of co-op/internship experience in a desktop support role preferred

Working Conditions

  • Downtown location with regular office hours, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Evenings and weekends to meet project deadlines as required
